Warrants called to trade news:

New issue of redeemable warrants admitted to trading

1992-12-08 20:52 MT - Miscellaneous
The Montreal exchange reports
2,500,000 redeemable warrants to purchase class B subordinate voting shares of the company and 5,000,000 additional class B subordinate voting shares will be listed and admitted to trading on the exchange at the opening of business on December 11 1992.

This listing is made in connection with a distribution by the company of 5,000,000 units pursuant to a prospectus dated August 24 1992, each unit consisting of one class B share and one-half of one redeemable warrant.

The additional class B shares and the redeemable warrants comprising the units were issued following the exercise of special warrants of the company previously issued by the company pursuant to an underwriting agreement dated as of June 4 1992 between the company and Gordon Capital, First Marathon Securities, Midland Walwyn Capital, Research Capital and Loewen, Ondaatje, McCutcheon & Company.

Each special warrant was issued at $6.50 and entitled the holder, upon exercise and without payment of any additional consideration, to be issued one unit, consisting of one class B share and one-half of one redeemable warrant. The units in question were immediately severable upon exercise of the special warrants.

A total of 2,500,000 additional class B shares, reserved for issuance upon exercise of the redeemable warrants, shall also be added to the trading list of the exchange.

Warrant Terms
  • Expiration Date: The last day the warrants can be exercised. If warrants aren't going to be exercised then they must be sold the day before the expiry date. The longer the time to expiry the more valuable the warrants.
  • Leverage: A measure of how much you can increase your exposure to a share if you bought warrants instead of making a direct investment. It is the current share price divided by the current price of the warrant.
  • Intrinsic Value: The difference between the exercise price and the actual trading price of the common stock. Once the common has gone over the exercise price, the warrants are "In the Money."
  • Volatility: The higher the volatility rating, the higher the price of the warrant. Historical volatility is calculated by using the standard deviation of an underlying stock price over a specific period.
  • Time Value: The difference between the current warrant price and its intrinsic value. Interpreted as the consideration paid for the advantage the warrant buyer has over the direct investor.
