Metallica Resources Inc.'s common share purchase warrants of the company expiring at 5 p.m. (Toronto time) on Dec. 11, 2008, will be posted for trading at the open on Monday, July 7, 2008, on an adjusted basis under the trading information set out below:

The above action is the result of the recently effected plan of arrangement involving the company and New Gold Inc. (TSX: NGD) as described in the notice and management proxy circular of the company dated May 16, 2008, whereby each holder of the company's common shares became entitled to receive 0.9 of a common share of New Gold and 0.01 cent in cash for every common share of the company held. As a result of the arrangement, the warrants have been adjusted so that for each warrant exercised the holder will be entitled to receive 0.9 of a New Gold share and 0.01 cent in cash for a price of $3.10. The expiry date of the warrants remains 5 p.m. (Toronto time) on Dec. 11, 2008. The equivalent exercise price for one full New Gold share (and approximately 0.01 cent) is approximately $3.44.

No fractional New Gold shares will be issued upon the exercise of a warrant. If the number of New Gold shares to which a holder of warrants would otherwise be entitled upon the exercise of a warrant is not a whole number then the number of New Gold shares to be issued shall be rounded down to the next whole number and the holder of such warrant shall not be entitled to any compensation in respect of any fractional New Gold shares.

No action is required by holders of warrants with respect to the adjustments above under the arrangement and the certificates currently representing the warrants will continue to evidence the rights outlined above. New warrant certificates will be issued upon transfer, upon partial exercise of a warrant certificate or at the request of holders of warrants. The warrants will be governed by the original warrant indenture dated Dec. 3, 2003, as amended by a supplemental indenture dated June 30, 2008, between the company and Computershare Trust Co. of Canada, as the new warrant agent.

The common share purchase warrants in respect of 19.35 million common shares of Metallica Resources will be posted for trading at the open on Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003.

The warrants will be issued as part of an offering of 38.7 million units at $2.20 per unit, each unit comprises one common share and one-half of a common share purchase warrant, pursuant to the terms of a prospectus dated Dec. 3, 2003. Each whole warrant entitles the holder to purchase one common share at a price of $3.10 per share for a period of five years from the date of closing of this offering. Details of the prospectus offering are contained elsewhere in today's Toronto Stock Exchange
bulletins.

The warrants will be governed by the terms of a warrant indenture to be dated Dec. 11, 2003, between the company and Equity Transfer Services Inc., as warrant agent. The warrant indenture provides for appropriate adjustments to be made to the rights of the holders of warrants in the event of stock dividends, subdivisions, consolidations and other forms of capital reorganization involving the company.

Warrant Terms

Expiration Date: The last day the warrants can be exercised. If warrants aren't going to be exercised then they must be sold the day before the expiry date. The longer the time to expiry the more valuable the warrants.

Leverage: A measure of how much you can increase your exposure to a share if you bought warrants instead of making a direct investment. It is the current share price divided by the current price of the warrant.

Intrinsic Value: The difference between the exercise price and the actual trading price of the common stock. Once the common has gone over the exercise price, the warrants are "In the Money."

Volatility: The higher the volatility rating, the higher the price of the warrant. Historical volatility is calculated by using the standard deviation of an underlying stock price over a specific period.

Time Value: The difference between the current warrant price and its intrinsic value. Interpreted as the consideration paid for the advantage the warrant buyer has over the direct investor.
