Energy Leaders to list up to 1.9 million warrants

Energy Leaders Income Fund will list up to 1,907,992 unit purchase warrants on the Toronto Stock Exchange on a when-issued basis at the open on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, according to the TSX. As in a Jan. 14, 2014, short form prospectus, the fund plans to issue one warrant to unitholders of record on Jan. 23, 2014, for each unit held. Two warrants will entitle the holder to buy one additional unit for $12.13 until 5 p.m. (Toronto time) on July 15, 2014. The fund's units will start trading ex distribution at the open on Jan. 21, 2014. The warrants can be exercised from Jan. 24, 2014, to the expiry date.

The TSX reports the warrants will trade under the symbol HEN.WT.A and Cusip No. 29270D 12 9.

Energy Leaders Income's units to separate June 18

Energy Leaders Income Fund's units will separate into trust units and trust unit purchase warrants at the open on Monday, June 18, 2012, according to the Toronto Stock Exchange. The TSX reports it will halt trading in the trust's units (HEN.A) at the open on June 18, 2012, and will delist them at the close on the same day. The exchange will list 4.6 million trust units, 2.3 million of which are issued and outstanding, under symbol HEN.UN and Cusip No. 29270D 10 3, and 2.3 million purchase warrants, all of which are issued and outstanding, under symbol HEN.WT and Cusip No. 29270D 11 1.

Warrant Terms
  • Expiration Date: The last day the warrants can be exercised. If warrants aren't going to be exercised then they must be sold the day before the expiry date. The longer the time to expiry the more valuable the warrants.
  • Leverage: A measure of how much you can increase your exposure to a share if you bought warrants instead of making a direct investment. It is the current share price divided by the current price of the warrant.
  • Intrinsic Value: The difference between the exercise price and the actual trading price of the common stock. Once the common has gone over the exercise price, the warrants are "In the Money."
  • Volatility: The higher the volatility rating, the higher the price of the warrant. Historical volatility is calculated by using the standard deviation of an underlying stock price over a specific period.
  • Time Value: The difference between the current warrant price and its intrinsic value. Interpreted as the consideration paid for the advantage the warrant buyer has over the direct investor.
